Dear Guests,
our restaurant is currently closed. We are busy renovating our barn! When the cows return from the Loferer Alm this autumn, they will hopefully be able to move into their brand-new “Laufstall” (freestall barn).
For those who aren’t familiar with what a freestall barn is: it means our cows will be able to move around freely and will no longer be tied up. They will also have an outdoor area where they can enjoy the fresh air whenever they like. Additionally, the new setup is designed to make our daily work a bit easier. We are very excited about the new barn – though there is still a lot of work to be done before then!
Because of the construction, our restaurant will not reopen until early June, once the heaviest work is completed. We are aiming for Thursday, June 4th, but we will announce the exact date soon. You can always find the latest updates on Instagram, Facebook, or right here on our website.
Attached are a few photos of the construction site and of springtime here in Lofer.
Warm regards,
The Faistauer Family

Our cows were able to head up to the mountain pasture in mid-April this year so that their barn at home can be renovated.
